Can StudentVoice help with the assessment of learning outcomes?
Each Member Campus is assigned a team of StudentVoice Assessment Consultants to assist with aspects of assessment planning and design. Once learning outcomes are defined, StudentVoice Assessment Consultants work collaboratively with campus staff to design appropriate measures and to select the appropriate methodology.
How do I find out how other campuses are using StudentVoice?
StudentVoice has transformed www.studentvoice.com into a virtual higher education assessment Community that provides online forums for sharing assessment best practices, assessment instruments, and effective assessment strategies. Also included are department-specific resources, blogs from campus practitioners, interactive discussion forums, and a myriad of opportunities to learn from other campuses and contribute to the national dialogue on assessment.
Do StudentVoice assessment projects go through the Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Human Subjects Review Committee process?
IRB policies vary from campus to campus and we encourage you to check with the IRB office (or comparable entity) on your campus. When assessment results are being used for internal improvement, IRB approval is not typically required. In instances when the data is being shared with external audiences, such as during a benchmarking project, IRB approval is strongly encouraged and may be required. StudentVoice Assessment Consultants can assist with developing your IRB protocol.
Can we store assessment data in StudentVoice, even if we did not collect the data using StudentVoice?
StudentVoice is designed to house all assessment-related materials, whether it is assessment plans or accreditation materials, assessment data and associated notes, participation and involvement data, or summary reports for various audiences. Member Campuses may store data from national studies, qualitative projects, and other types of data not collected through StudentVoice.
Can we integrate StudentVoice results with our Student Information System?
The StudentVoice assessment platform allows for student responses to be uniquely identified for matching with institutional data sets (e.g., demographic data, GPA, persistence factors). Results can then be exported to a file for integration with your campus’s Student Information System. In addition, you can submit a data file to StudentVoice for use in our browser based reports.
